i just don't get around to it.  Othr things to look at, and inertia. Latest issue for me is that the 2nd hard drive on my Vista has stopped answering requests. turns out that the Ubuntu loader then wouldn't work, since it's config file was on the 2nd drive. I had to use bootsec /fixmbr to get the Vista to boot. Now, i need replace the second drive. it is backed up on the MS home server, so no data loss. this is the first hard drive, that has failed mechanically (click, click, click) for me. the Ubuntu system was essentially unused, with few files. i was looking at it for use on another machine used at the church. it had windows 98 on it and became virus infected. the jag motor may be moving slightly. I have to measure it more carefully.
